Simone Biles is flipping a switch on MyKayla Skinner’s latest moves.
Hours after MyKayla showed her support for the Team USA gymnasts’ latest win at the 2024 Olympics, Simone shared her former teammate has blocked her.
“Oop,” Simone wrote on X, formerly Twitter, July 31. “I’ve been blocked.”
And in case it was unclear just exactly who the 27-year-old was talking about, her teammate Jordan Chiles set the record straight by sharing a snap of MyKayla’s Instagram account under which Jordan wrote, “When she blocks Simone.”
The latest update comes after Simone celebrated her latest gold medal win in Paris, seemingly calling out MyKayla’s previous comments disparaging the rest of the gymnasts on the American team. Alongside a photo of the athletes—including Jordan, Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera—Simone wrote on Instagram July 30, "Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions."
Her fellow gymnasts shared some cheeky responses under her Instagram post. “Put a finger down if Simone Biles just ended you,” Suni commented alongside an open palm emoji, while Jordan simply wrote, “And that’s on periodt!!”
Meanwhile, Olympian McKayla Maroney, who competed with Simone at the Summer Games in 2012, also shared her thoughts while celebrating the win. “It doesn’t get more iconic than this,” she wrote. “She f’d around n found out fr. Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.”
Simon seemingly referenced MyKayla’s reaction to the gymnastics trials. In a now-deleted YouTube video, she said, "Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn't like what it used to be."
"A lot of girls don't work as hard," she explained at the time. "The girls just don't have the work ethic."
Her video received intense scrutiny online and the 27-year-old issued an apology, saying that her comments were “misinterpreted or misunderstood.”
"A lot of the stuff that I was talking about wasn't always necessarily about the current team, because I love and support all the girls that made it,” MyKayla said on her Instagram Stories earlier this month. “I'm so proud of them.”
But Simone wasn’t impressed with her apology, sharing on Thread at the time, “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.”
